ABOUT

During the U.S. election in 2016, Hollie watched women across the country come together and integrate their individual viewpoints to form a powerful collective voice. While watching the Women’s March on Washington and participating in her local march, she was reminded of the first protesters for women’s suffrage, those inspiring women who came before us to fight for social justice and equality.

Hollie created Protest Pearls to honor trailblazing women of accomplishment. Remembering how it can take years for mollusks to transform an imposed burden into something highly valued, Hollie chose the pearl to represent the iridescent beauty that came out of years of hard work and struggle by rights workers to achieve their goal of equality. Wearing Protest Pearls can remind women of their collective power and inspire them to continue to work for positive change.
